I
am a member of your organization, but lately have
not been receiving your magazine. What is the reason?
If you were an annual member
of Beauty Without Cruelty , it could be possible
that since you did not renew your subscription,
you have been deleted from our records. The other
possibility could be that you have recently shifted
from your residence and have not informed us your
new postal address.
However, if neither of these are true, we request
you to write to us quoting your membership number
(if you have it) and we shall look into the matter
at the earliest

Are

Does
BWC consider milk acceptable to its ethic?
While BWC recognizes the harm
done to the animals in the dairy industry and therefore
promotes and encourages veganism, it does not yet
accord to itself the status of a Vegan organization.
Many of our members and some of our trustees are
vegans, however. We also list food and cosmetic
items under two separate categories vegetarian and
vegan (products not using milk, honey, and wool)
to enable people to make their own choice.

I
wish to do something for the stray animals in my
area. How can BWC help me?
BWC does not have a program for
dealing with stray animals as such. While we encourage
neutering the animals and a no-kill animal birth
control program, our constitution does not include
work for stray animals. We would gladly put you
in touch with relevant organizations who do work
for strays.

There
are so many butcher shops in my lane. Isn't there
something we can do?
Yes, legal action can be taken
against them since they are all unauthorized and
illegal. However, knowing the situation of corruption
and connivance between the law enforcement authorities
and the law breakers, such an action might not be
effective or advisable and we would like to warn
people against taking rash steps that could invite
physical retaliation resulting in harm. However,
for the record, the action that may be taken is
as follows: give a complaint in writing to the local
municipal authorities about possible encroachment
by the butcher and conduct of unlicensed activity,
and asking them to remove the structure and get
the business stopped. Make sure that such a petition
is signed by a group and not you as an individual,
for security reasons.

Do you market ahimsak products? Do you manufacture your own brand of products? Is there any shop where you sell your products?
We do not manufacture or market any products. We only conduct market research to find out and certify products to be free of animal influence in terms of ingredients and testing and publish a list of these products in our book A Vegetarian Lifestyle. We recommend using only products included in this list. |
